I sing professionally as a countertenor, singing music written from the 12th to the 21st centuries but with a focus on medieval, Renaissance and Baroque music. Recent solo roles have included the alto solos in Handel’s Messiah with the Oriana Chorale, the part of Daniel in the medieval Play of Daniel under the direction of Judith Clingan and the alto solos in Purcell: A Tribute by the Canberra Choral Society. Earlier, I performed with a number of highly-regarded ensembles in the UK and in Sydney, including the choir of Jesus College, Cambridge, the Cambridge Medieval Music Group under the direction of Edward Wickham, the Sydney Chamber Choir, the Renaissance Players and the choir of St James’ Church, King Street.
As well as solo performances, I perform regularly with The Pocket Score Company. I also perform music of the troubadours and trouveres, self-accompanied on the harp.
There are a number of performance samples on this site (over to the right) and more on youtube.
Details of how to hire me as a performer are available elsewhere on this site. You can also contact me to discuss performance opportunities.
